The University of Northumbria is one of the largest Universities in the UK offering over 500 study programmes to over 21,000 students. The school's four campuses offer a range of lifestyles, from the bustle of a major city centre site in the heart of Newcastle, to the rural tranquillity of the Longhirst Campus set in 45 acres of parkland.
In recent years the Higher Education Funding Council for England has audited a wide range of subjects and to date, no subject area assessed at Northumbria has received less than a Satisfactory award. Indeed, the Sunday Times listed Northumbria as "Best New University" for three consecutive years in 1998, 1999, 2000.
